Whether you are a wholesaler, a hotel procurement manager or an interior design studio, buying embroidered wall covering from China has the same recurring failure modes. This is the checklist we wish every buyer brought to the first message.
The two questions that separate factory from trader
- What machines do you run — multi-head or dedicated single-embroidery? A genuine manufacturer answers with numbers and machine types, not with a photo of a workshop they may have visited once.
- Can I see the machine running my pattern on a live video call? A factory says yes within the hour. A trader needs to arrange it.
The remaining ten
- Is pricing FOB or EXW, and which port? Get it in writing before anything else.
- What is the MOQ per pattern and per colourway? For custom work the honest answer is one.
- Who owns the stitch card after it is made, and is the fee one-time?
- Can you provide a third-party test report for GB 18401, and is it recent?
- What is the base fabric composition and weight in grams per square metre?
- What are the colour fastness ratings — water, perspiration, rubbing, light?
- Do you ship rolled, and what is the carton dimension for my order?
- What are the actual lead times at your current capacity, not the brochure figure?
- Which Incoterms, which forwarder, and who handles destination clearance?
- Can existing buyers in my country be named as references?
On price
Embroidered wall covering is priced by total area, stitch count per square metre and pattern complexity. If a quote arrives within minutes of a photo, it is almost certainly a per-square-metre catalogue rate that will be revised once your real dimensions and density are known. A considered quote takes a day — that is not slow, that is accurate.
On samples
Ask for a physical swatch, not just photos. Thread sheen and relief do not survive a screen. Reputable suppliers send a swatch free and charge only the courier. Insist on tracking, and judge the reverse side of the embroidery as carefully as the front — stitch density and backing tell you more about quality than the face does.
Frequently asked questions
What is your minimum order quantity?
There is no fixed MOQ. A single custom mural for one wall is a normal order for us, because we run dedicated single-embroidery machines rather than batch multi-head lines.
Do you ship worldwide?
Yes. We ship by express air courier for samples and urgent orders, and by sea freight for volume. Murals always ship rolled in hard cartons, never folded.
